The Buchholz Fellowship was created to build a pipeline of young leaders interested in improving the governance of our city, state, and region. As a fellow, Jen participated in all Board and Policy Committee meetings and was a full participant in Seventy’s conversations, discussions, and debates around governance and public policy issues facing Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of PA. Alongside the four other fellows, Jen helped create the new We Vote program to encourage regional businesses to incorporate voting as a civic act into their office culture.

Project Recess is dedicated to transforming G. W. Childs Elementary School's two outdoor areas into creative, high-functioning play spaces so that students can have a more positive recess experience. Phase 1 starts with the rooftop. This is an effort of Neighbors Investing in Childs Elementary, a community group Jen helped found in 2012.

During the 2016 Presidential Election, over a dozen young political leaders from across Philadelphia came together in an effort to encourage millennials to vote for Hillary Clinton. The grassroots group partnered with Mayor Kenny to promote canvassing opportunities, created a promotional video, and raised awareness on how citizens can impact elections through volunteerism.

RAISING MS. PRESIDENT FILM SCREENING AND PANEL DISCUSSION
As part of her LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Connectors and Keepers capstone project, Jen collaborated with Girls on the Run Philly and Women of Fels to produce a multifaceted event to promote young women's interest in politics. Jen helped spearhead a fundraiser, screening of the documentary film "Raising Ms. President" and a panel discussion of women in politics including: Melissa Murray-Bailey, 2015 Philadelphia Republican Mayoral Candidate, Donna Bullock, Democratic State Representative for the 195th Legislative District, Cherelle Parker, Democratic Councilwoman for 9th Council District and Jessica Grounds, Political Strategist.
CONVENING THE CONVENERS

Jen led this educational networking group through quarterly meetings, Convening the Conveners (now called #ConvenePHL) gathers community-focused event planners and nonprofit leaders to learn best practices, challenges, pro-tips and other commonalities through a panel of peers. This is an initiative under Basecamp Ventures and Eventupon.

AN INSIDE PERSPECTIVE FROM FRESHMAN COMMITTEEPEOPLE
This event, part of Young Involved Philadelphia's State of Young Philly annual event series and hosted by WHHY's Dave Davies, featured a diverse panel of young committeepeople who reflected on their experiences - from rowdy ward meetings to questionable relationships between wards and candidates. Jen produced this event in collaboration with Committee of 70 and sat on the panel representing the 36th Ward where she serves as a committeeperson.
